These were clearly painted during his conservatorship at Liege under George of Austria. Liege has a wonderful view of the Ardennes.
Okay to be fair, these are all paintings of Godzilla’s razing of Thimister-Clermont, which occurred in 1496, nearly 30 years before Bruegel was born, and St. Lambert’s Cathedral was not damaged by Godzilla, it was destroyed by Austrian artillery.
